Terms and Conditions of Purchase / Hovie SUP 180 day Warranty
All of our Hovie SUP branded products is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 180 days from date of purchase. Hovie SUP will repair or replace with like merchandise any product that proves defective, upon inspection by our technical staff, for a period of 180 days from date of purchase. Users of Hovie SUP boards that are damaged/wrecked, punctured, misused, snapped stringers and/or boards broken or fins and screws lost or damaged due to impact, crushing, pressure or compression are not covered from users use. Repair Kits, replacement fins and screws are available at a replacement cost. In most cases wreck/impact damage can be easily repaired by an authorized repair station for a reasonable fee. Over exposure to the elements, Sun, heat, normal wear and tear is not covered. The warranty covers the original purchaser only. Hovie SUP is not responsible for any direct or incidental costs, losses, injuries or damages incurred as a result of the use of the product. Hovie SUP’s technical staff inspects and makes decisions regarding defects and whether or not to replace or repair a product. Decisions by the technical staff are final. Products used by businesses for commercial purposes such as rentals, surf camps and instruction are not warranted.
How Shipping Works:
We make every effort to ship products within 24 working hours of receipt of your order for in stock orders; online orders generally process a sooner. If you order Friday, we will attempt ship Monday. Holidays are the same. Our Website orders are normally shipped via an LTL carrier from our closest warehouse, or corporate office/warehouse in Sarasota FL, and usually take 2-7 days depending upon your distance from our warehouse. Remember to add a day for order processing.
To Make a Warranty Claim:
Buyer shall contact Hovie SUP at 941-894-9900 or email@example.com to pre-qualify for a potential claim. Upon initial approval a Return Authorization will be issued. Buyer will return the product, at buyer’s expense, with DATED PROOF OF PURCHASE and a written explanation of the problem to Hovie SUP where it will be inspected for defects. A product given final approval for warranty repair or replacement by the SSB technical staff will be returned to the buyer, freight collect.
Any product may be returned in new, unopened condition within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, less any freight and/or handling charges incurred by Hovie SUP. All freight, packing and handling charges (both ways) are the responsibility of the buyer. Boards in new condition but with opened retail packaging can be returned minus all freight/handling and a 20% restocking fee. Used product or product not in new condition may not be returned for refund.
While rare, freight damage can occur, and is the responsibility of the carrier. We pack and ship many boards per year and very few are damaged. All claims must be reported to the carrier/truck driver immediately, before he leaves the delivery. Hovie SUP always fully insures each shipment for the full price you paid. We use only well-established freight LTL Freight to deliver products. Inspect your delivery immediately and NOTE ANY DAMAGE AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY WITH THE DELIVERY PERSON in writing on the freight bill. It is the buyer’s responsibility to file a damage claim with the appropriate carrier. We can assist you with repair quotes and any documentation to help substantiate your claim. Returns for freight damage are not allowed. All Hovie SUP’s are insured against shipping damage for the full price you paid.
Warning: Surfing and Paddling are extreme sports. As such, there is potential of serious injury or death. Only strong swimmers over the age of 12 should participate. Use of a PDF and head protection is required. You should consult your physician regarding your physical condition before participation in these or any other strenuous sports. If you are not willing to accept these risks, do not surf!
Hovie SUP never sells client information to anyone. Our shippers need your daytime phone number in case they can’t find you.
